![]() In addition to being scared, I was kind of pissed off at id while taking my week-long break, since it felt like they had pulled an intentional bait-and-switch with that creepy-ass ending. When the “sweet little dead bunny” music started playing and the screen started scrolling to the left, I was expecting a badass Doom logo with the Doomguy fighting a Cyberdemon to be the “you win” graphic, since that’s exactly what Doom95 shows on the startup menu. In a strange way, I actually miss games being able to get such a strong reaction out of me. ![]() I even switched off the PC in fear, and instantly ran to/hugged my older brother right after I first saw it (LOL. ![]() I was 7, but other than that small detail, that sounds SO much like my reaction to Daisy. Part of that memory I usually don’t recall when writing posts about old Doom experiences is that I sighed with relief when I opened the doors and found out it was “just” a Cyberdemon, since I had already seen him a few times in Doom2 and the small handful of wads I had. You’re absolutely right about the Barons, it was just the idea of something strong enough to kill and hang 4 that scared me.
